Challenges
- The quality of water extracted from the site is variable and unpredictable, and must comply with specific and particularly restrictive criteria.
- The absence of a dedicated, specialized water management operator requires the implementation of a simple, understandable treatment system and accessible technical support.
- The space available for water treatment and settling is very limited due to the urban nature of the site.
- Additive elements in the industrial waste water, such as foaming agents, hydrocarbons and concrete, add to the treatment challenges.
Outcomes
- Water discharge maintained in compliance with Montreal Metropolitan Community environmental standards.
- No construction site shutdown due to non-compliance of treated discharged water.
- Savings on specialized operational labor costs.
- Accelerated learning curve for site water treatment operations and improved overall performance.
