Milestones in our history
1983
In 1983, the family-owned company Location Blais started its Technosub division, created to solve problems related to pumping for the mining industry. By providing new solutions to tackle the problems of tailings pond corrosions by offering a fast and efficient pump repair service, the company quickly increased its market share.
1993
The company is divided into two entities: Technosub Manufacture Inc., manufacturer and repairer of pumps and pump parts, and Technosub / Tsurumi Canada (121352 Canada Inc.), distributor of pumps imported from Japan.
1997
To offer easy access and quick solutions to our customers’ needs, a first branch was opened in 1997 in Boucherville and later, four more branches were established in Timmins, Sudbury, Edmonton and Winnipeg.
2004
To ensure the performance of its products, a test bench is built. With its 36,000-gallon pond and 1-megawatt generator, Technosub still holds, to this day, the largest test bench in Canada, allowing for testing pumps over 800 HP and 4160 V! Each of the pumps that leave its warehouses is tested and sent with the result of the performance test.
2009
Two warehouses were opened, one in Moncton and the other in Toronto, to reduce delivery delays to our Maritimes and Southern Ontario customers. At that time, the company had about 65 employees.
2010
In addition to its usual activities, an engineering department was created in 2010 to design and create pumping solutions tailored to the specific needs of its customers, as well as to innovate and develop new products. The development of the Mudwizard research program begins.
2011
A new branch was opened in Surrey, British Columbia, to promote the development of Western Canada’s province, and our Moncton warehouse became an official branch.
2013
A new branch opened in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to improve customer service and delivery delays to our Central Canadian provinces and a warehouse was opened in Wabush, Labrador.
2016
Our dream was to offer a simple, robust and affordable solution to pre-treat mining waters and increase the service life of dewatering pumps. Our goal was to apply our collective creativity to simplify complex water treatment techniques in one simple step: add clarification tablets as needed. On March 11, 2016 the engineering department officially lunched the Mudwizard.
2017
In the fall of 2017, Miller Sales & Engineering (MSE) of Tucson, Arizona, was acquired by Technosub. Specializing in pumping and mine dewatering solutions in the United States since 1966, this company is a benchmark in American mining states such as Nevada, Arizona and Utah. 15 people work there full time. In its first year with Technosub, the company posted a 50% increase in sales.
2018
Technosub adopts an R & D strategy that focuses the efforts invested in innovation in three areas: offer greater flexibility and adaptability. Introduce and use new technologies in the digital age. Develop products that will have a positive impact on the environment and our communities.
Culture of innovation
People first
We rely on a strong culture whose foundations rest, among other things, on innovation and creativity. Passionate about reaching unprecedented goals, we choose, each day, to create favorable conditions to thinking differently and bringing out new ideas. Having the audacity to challenge the status quo, we believe that to develop individually and collectively, innovation and creativity must be put in the forefront.
It is in this perspective that Mudwizard was born. Our goal was to apply our collective creativity to simplify complex water treatment techniques in one simple step: only add tablets as needed.
